Rewatch Worthy Entertainment

Everyone has movies and shows they could watch over and over again. Ones that they go back to not only because they entertain, but because they just amazing.

There is no shortage of binge worthy entertainment out there. Between cable and streaming services you can basically watch whatever you want.

It took me a while to realize that rewatching television shows and movies is very calming for those who suffer from anxiety. I also like to have something on when I am home alone, I like the background noise.

Also, have you ever noticed that when you rewatch something you pick up stuff you didn’t before? I usually spot something new in the background or make a connection I hadn’t before, especially in the MARVEL movies!!

Most shows and movies can be found on Netflix, Disney+ or Prime Video but I do rewatch this often so I actually owe most of the shows and movies that I watch.

My favourite rewatch TV shows

Like all people, I have my favourites that I rewatch. I could probably rewatch these over and over again. I find comfort in the rewatch and still enjoy the shows as much as I did the first time.

  • The Good Place – The writing, the cast, the story…it’s all great! I’m kind of fascinated with “life after death” shows and this one is just the best!
  • Ghosts (CBS) – Personally, I believe in ghosts. Imagine what we could learn if we could talk to ghosts of the past?
  • LOST – say what you will about the finale (which I loved), this show is still amazing! But let’s face it, it wouldn’t be a doctor or lawyer that took charge. It would be someone who worked in customer service!
  • Hawaii 5-0 – Both series where great, but I loved the remake. For 10 seasons it just made me happy.
  • Once Upon a Time – My love of Disney come to life!! I love the idea that fairytale characters are living among us!
  • The Orville – a modern day Star Trek. Funny and relative to today.
  • Superstore – Having worked in front-line retail and in customer service I relate to this show in so many ways.
  • Ugly Betty – I can’t even begin to say how much I love this show! It was definitely ahead of its time in many ways, and yes some of the humour would be considered a little problematic today, but it holds up!
  • Upload – the fasicating idea that we can still talk and interact with our loved ones after death.
  • Dragons: Riders of Berk/Defenders of Berk/Race To The Edge – a continuation of the How To Train Your Dragon movie, and honestly, just hilarious!

Honourable mentions for Brooklyn 99, Frasier, Emily in Paris and The Umbrella Academy.

My favourite rewatch Movies

  • All Disney and Pixar movies – Any one who knows me knows, I’m a sucker for a good Disney or Pixar movie.
  • Back To The Future – These movies have made such a mark that they are referenced in almost every other movie about time travel.
  • Avengers and any Marvel movie – I grew up reading Marvel comics with my dad and I just love these movies. I get excited for each new phase. I could do without any more Hulk movies though, you’d think they’d be better.
  • Angry Birds – A great animated movie that definitely caters more to adults than kids. I can’t wait for the third movie!
  • Transformers – Are they problematic? Yes. What I expect from these movies are alien robots blowing stuff up. What I get is alien robots blowing stuff up!! To me, that is perfection!
  • Despicable Me – I love the weirdness of these movies so much. A “master” evil villain turned family man! The humour, the character growth, everything is great.
  • Harry Potter – I love the movies. I love the books. While yes, the question of how they get jobs or be adults without learning math, science, geography or anything other than magic is a massive one, they are still great!
  • Ghostbusters (old and new) – I think there is room for every Ghostbuster movie!! I love them all! I actually wish the one with Melissa McCarthy had sequels because they have a different vibe and humour.
  • Hotel Transylvania – What if you could visit a hotel filled with the most famous monsters? And what if you found out they have the same thoughts and feelings we did? Fun right??
  • How To Train Your Dragon – These movies have such heart!

I can honestly list about 20 more movies that I would be happy to watch over and over again.

Happy viewing!
