Walt Disney World – January 2024

Is there anything better than a magical vacation? Ya, I didn’t think so.

Travelling is Orlando and the Walt Disney World resort area is not for the faint of heart. At any given time it can be super busy and crazy hot.

One of my most favourite times of the year to go to WDW is in January or February. There are a number of reasons this is the perfect time to visit.

1. Lower crowds – with the rush of the holidays being over, the parks generally see lower wait times and fewer crowds. Thats not to say that it’s not busy. It’s always busy.

2. Lower temperatures – visiting WDW or Florida in the summer can be like visiting the surface of the sun. Visiting in the winter means lower temperatures which makes for more enjoyable days. It’s important to keep in mind that is can still get quite cold in WDW, like freezing temperatures so plan accordingly. Do not assume that just because it’s Florida, it will be hot.

3. The Epcot International Festival of the Arts – Imagine enjoying specialty food, shows, music and art all while strolling around the world in Epcot. This is a free event that is included with your park admission (although the food is extra!).

4. Room discounts and deals – Given the lower crowds, the Walt Disney World resort often has room or ticket offers on. These are often limited in number so it’s important to take advantage of these as soon as possible.
